Caramel Raisin Delight

Makes an 8x8 pan. Recipe from when mom and dad served in the Primary Children's Hospital Branch Presidency.

1 Tablespoon butter or margarine
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup sugar
1 cup flour
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 teaspoon soda
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup raisins
1/2 cup nuts

Directions:
Cream butter and sugar, add milk and sifted dry ingredients. Add raisins and nuts. Pour into greased cake pan and set aside.
Mix together: 2 Tablespoons butter, 1 cup brown sugar and 2 cups boiling water and carefully pour over the cake mixture.
Bake at 400 degrees for 30 minutes.
Serve with whipped cream or ice cream.
