Christmas Corn Pops

Mom started making this at Christmas time when I was a teenager. She loved to make candy and had several containers filled for snacking on the divider during the holidays.

1 16-ounce bag corn pops, (Barrel O' Fun or Clover Club brand)
2 cups sugar
1/2 pound margarine
1/2 pound butter
6 Tablespoons water
2 Tablespoons white Karo syrup

Directions:
Combine sugar, margarine, butter, water and Karo corn syrup in a 3-quart saucepan. Bring to a boil to 245 degrees on candy thermometer. Pour corn pops into a large roasting pan. Gradually cover with syrup. Cover thoroughly by stirring. Spread on 2 buttered cookie sheets to cool and harden. Break into pieces and share with friends and family!
