Microwave Caramels
- 1 cup butter
- 2 ⅓ cups brown sugar, packed
- 1 cup light corn syrup
- 14 ounces sweet condensed milk
- ⅛ teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- ½ cup walnuts, chopped
- In 2 quart microwave bowl combine butter, sugar, milk and salt. Microwave on high 3-4 minutes stirring once after 2 minutes.
- When butter melted, stir well. Microwave on high 14 minutes or until mixture reaches 245. No stirring is needed.
- Remove from microwave. Stir in vanilla and nuts. Let stand 10 minutes, stirring several times. Pour into greased 13x9 pan. Refrigerate until cool. Invert pan; carefully tap out whole pan; cut into squares. Wrap in wax paper and store in fridge or freezer
